GPS – Guided Planning Solutions

GPS is a solution for automatic planning in RayStation born in 2016 from the collaboration of Tecnologie Avanzate with the Politecnico of Turin and the University of Turin.

The current version of GPS (v.4.1) introduces the concept of personalized treatment plans with the automatic generation of an ideal dose distribution for each patient. This dose turns out to be the starting point of the optimization algorithm; in this way the convergence towards the optimal solution is faster and the saving of OARs is personalized for each specific patient.

Tecnologie Avanzate offers a complete assistance and support service both on-site and remotely. The GPS enjoys periodic updates and boasts a total number of 30 installations throughout the national territory.

The peculiarity of the algorithm is its versatility which allows to automate the planning for both photons and protons. The system can be used with all major planning techniques for standard and non-standard equipment – IMRT, VMAT, TomoTherapy and CyberKnife – ensuring a high level of customization for each technique and anatomical region selected.
